HUNTING RIFLES
Your weapon is the most important tool on your
hunt!!! It is therefore absolutely necessary to bring
your own weapon. The import of hunting rifles to Namibia
is trouble-free, you just need your firearm licences;
however, the import of handguns is forbidden. Bear also in mind
to ship your rifle right through to Windhoek.

CALIBRES
We recommend .375H&H, .338Win, 8x68, 9.3, .30-06
or similar. The heavier calibre is the better one, as long as
you are able to manage it and you are very much accustomed to
it; if in any doubt, rather consider the lighter one. Choose
heavy projectiles, with solid construction-type,
like for example Nosler, Swift A-Frame, Barnes X, Fail
safe or similar. Take 40-60 rounds of ammo
with you and make sure your rifle is sighted in at a 150 paces.
TELESCOPES
Telescopes with magnification of four to six times
is enough. Bigger telescopes tend to make the rifle top heavy,
especially when taking a snapshot. |
